Texts From Pawnee began when I found this post on Greendale Texts From Last Night. I thought it was hilarious and, because I’d wanted to start a sub-blog for a while, this seemed like the perfect idea to actively join the amazing Parks and Rec fandom.
The blog officially opened May 9 with this post. It was my favorite that really got us noticed by the Parks fandom on Tumblr.
On May 17, only 8 days after opening, The AV Club wrote about the site as part of their Great Job, Internet! feature.
The next day we were featured on The Huffington Post as one of 7 Sites You Should Be Wasting Your Time On.
Then the Official Parks and Rec Twitter/Facebook linked us as well.
That was the day we had nearly 2,000 people viewing the site at one time.
Since then we’ve continued to post daily, accepting suggestion submissions from fans and checking TFLN on a regular basis for more Pawnee-esque texts.
